Summary | This paper reports on a course for the Certification Examination for Healthcare Information Technologist that
was conducted in the midst of a worldwide pandemic of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in 2020, which made it difficult to conduct regular face-to-face classes. The authors devised and implemented a hybrid certification exam preparation course that provides both remote and face-to-face exam preparation. The course consisted of three components: <1> face-to-face (weekly), <2> face-to-face (immediately before the certification exam), and <3> remote (as needed on Moodle). After the certification exam, the effectiveness of the course was verified. The results showed that participation in all three courses had an impact on passing the exam, and that the number of times a student took the course increased the probability of passing the exam, suggesting the usefulness of this hybrid-type of certification exam preparation course |
