Summary | Some patients with functional dyspepsia present with impaired gastric compliance and gastrointestinal motility. A traditional Chinese herval medicine, Rikkunshito(Chinese name Liu-Jin-Zi-Tang), has been identified as an effective drug against dyspeptic symptoms and is widely used for therapy in patients with functional dyspepsoa(FD).Rikkunshito enhanced meal-induced gastric compliance and gastric emptying rate. This observation suggests that Rikkunshito may be beneficial for FD patients with impaired gastric compliance and delayed gastric emptying. |
