Summary | The development of new drugs for cancer therapy is a crucial topic for improving the lives of cancer patients. Wepreviously discovered a new compound 14-100 which showed an inhibition of pancreatic cancer cell dynamics despiteminimal cytotoxicity, using a Cell-based Drug Discovery approach. This compound inhibited the growth of pancreaticcancer as well as metastasis
in vivo using a mouse orthotopic xenograft model. Compound 14-100 is a pyrazole-basedcompound. Recently, we synthesized analogues of Compound 14-100 and evaluated the eff ect on pancreatic cancer celldynamics. We found that at least 18 compounds inhibited cell dynamics (Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy 155 (2022)113733). Compound 14-100 and its analogues, discovered through a Cell-based Drug Discovery approach, have shownpromising activity against pancreatic cancer, and may represent a new class of drug candidates for this disease. |
