| 概要 | Fibrogenic mesenchymal cells in the aortic media and adventitia play a critical role in Angiotensin II(AngII)-induced extracellular matrix remodeling during abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) formation in mice. Recently, we demonstrated that either pharmacological or genetic inhibition of calpain-2, a non-lysosomal calcium dependent cysteine protease, prevented AngII-induced AAAs in mice. The purpose of this study was to determine the functional contribution of fibrogenic mesenchymal cells-derived calpain-2 to AngII-induced AAA formation in mice. Fibrogenic mesenchymal cells-derived calpain-2 play a critical role in the development of AngII-induced AAA formation in mice. |
