概要	The aim of the present study is to clarify the relationship between the episodic buffer of the working memory (WM) and the self-dimension of emotional competence. The episodic buffer is one of the components of WM proposed by Baddeley (2000). Although the relationship between WM and emotional competence has been demonstrated, the role of the episodic buffer is still unclear. In this study, we conducted an online survey with 103 participants to examine the relationship between the episodic buffer and emotional competence. The final analysis included 97 participants. The episodic buffer was measured using a binding task and emotional competence was measured using a questionnaire. Other verbal and visual short-term memory tasks were also conducted. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed a marginally significant positive association between regulation factor scores on the emotional competence self-dimension and the episodic buffer scores, controlling for verbal and visual short-term memory task scores. It is suggested that future laboratory experiments be conducted to clarify the relationship between emotional regulation strategies and the episodic buffer.
