Summary | Computed tomographic colonography (CTC) is a non-invasive method of examining the colon. It is mainly used for colorectal tumor diagnosis. Because the entire abdomen is examined, extracolonic pathologies can also be diagnosed. Some findings can lead to the earlier diagnosis of a clinically significant lesion. Those lesions may result in decreased patient morbidity or mortality. Overall savings in downstream health care costs may also be achieved. |
