Summary The purpose of this study is to suggest a tentative plan of all-university English language education curriculum to promote students’ active learning at Kurashiki Sakuyo University and in Sakuyo Junior College of Music. Our university did not make (or employ) a common English curriculum among three faculties in 2016: Music, Food Culture, and Childhood Education. In this paper, I would like to consider the issues of English language education at our university and junior college, and offer our new plans suitable for our students from three points of view. The first point we should discuss is to build the ideas for English language education in our university. The second point is to make a systematic curriculum for English language education as liberal arts. The last point is to revise the number of classes (not subjects) and the number of students in each class. The tentative plan starts from April in 2017. English teachers made the contents in each class syllabus in keywords, goals, and outline common. In addition, all students who take an English class are asked to do extensive reading out of class. We stand in a start line; therefore, we need to modify our plans through students’ learning activities, teachers’ comments, and effects on English language teaching all the time.
