概要 | Mechanical signals from external environment of a cell are transmitted to the nucleus from cytoskeletons through LINC (linker of nucleoskeleton and cytoskeleton) complex and are believed to play an important role in cellular morphological and functional responses to stimuli from environments. LINC complex are formed by nesprins and SUN proteins at the nuclear envelope, and nesprin-1 and nesprin-2 are believed to directly bind to actin filament. Previous studies have reported that knockdown of nesprin-1causes suppression of cellular morphological responses to mechanical stimuli, indicating that the nucleus-actin filament bindings are crucial to the morphological responses of cells to mechanical stimuli. To further address the detailed roles of nesprin-medicated nucleus-actin filament bindings, we explored the morphological changes of nesprin-1/-2-depleted fibroblasts exposed to cyclic stretching. |
